Pastor Christopher Taylor, I
At the young age of 17, Pastor C.L. Taylor, I knew within his heart God had called him to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Lord anointed him with the gift and talent of proclaiming God’s Word through preaching and song. Accepting God’s call, Pastor Taylor received his license, preaching under the leadership of his father, Rev. C. Gaither, pastor of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church preaching his first sermon, “The Trials of Faith”.
He began to enhance his preaching and teaching through furthering his education, receiving his Bachelors of Science Degree from Dallas Baptist University with additional studies at Southern Bible Institute, Bishop College of Dallas, Texas, and Dodge City Junior College of Dodge City, Kansas.
Growing up as a young boy in Texarkana, Texas, Pastor Taylor was baptized at the Oak Street Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas. Soon after that God began to move in Pastor Taylor’s life taking him through many experiences before becoming a pastor. He began God’s appointed journey as an associate minister at Beth-Eden Baptist Church of Ft. Worth, Texas, then at Concord Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas, TX and Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Bloomington, Illinois; followed by his first assignment as Pastor at the College Hill Baptist Church of Texarkana, Arkansas.
In 1992 God called Pastor Taylor to pastor the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, TX. On Sunday, February 9th Pastor Taylor preached his first sermon, entitled, “CAN GOD BE TRUSTED”. By following the direction of the Lord, MSMBC is continuing to grow.
Pastor Taylor was inspired by the Holy Spirit to see and walk in the vision God had for Morning Star. On Sunday afternoon, July 10, 1994, Pastor Taylor and the Morning Star Family broke ground for the newly structured sanctuary building. With the vision God has given Pastor Taylor, the church has now secured most of the surrounding properties. God has truly added to the Morning Star church family.
Because of the elevation and the movement God, Pastor Taylor has preached in various places and is affiliated with many spiritually based organizations, such as the National Baptist Convention, USA INC, the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Dallas, Texas, and the Northwestern District and the Texas B.M.E Convention.
Pastor Taylor has three children, Kristie, Morgan (husband Ken Banks) and Christopher II. But his heart has been taken again by his grandchildren, Kayden, Kenneth, Kennedy and Christopher III (Tre).
"Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” - Luke 6:38
